MajorDuties
As a Research Physical Scientist, you will: Provide technical consultation to other scientists, manufacturers, other governmental agencies with regard to certification requirements and scientific data to support revisions needed to assess product innovations and to address emerging hazards. Review and evaluate existing and proposed requirements for protective technology and protective product design, performance, quality, and reliability. Develop and recommend the use of product safety standards and associated operational and testing procedures to support proposed Federal regulations, national standards, and policy interpretations. Review research reports and comments received from other scientists participating in the research programs Perform other professional duties such as publishing reports of research in scientific journals, presenting papers at scientific conferences, and participating in professional societies and technical committees of professional societies.
