RESEARCH PHYSICIAN (FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

We are seeking a dedicated Research Physician to join our innovative team and contribute to pioneering clinical research. This is a fixed-term role which offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in advancing medical knowledge through cutting-edge clinical trials.
Working within EMS Healthcare’s Clinical Research Division, you will support the successful delivery of trials across our state-of-the-art Community Research Units throughout the UK. Your role will be essential in ensuring studies are conducted in accordance with regulatory, ethical, and sponsor protocols, maintaining compliance with Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP).
Collaborating with senior staff, you will help uphold trial integrity, ensure participant safety, and maintain strict adherence to study guidelines. This position also provides opportunities for professional development, including training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in leading community-based research projects.

Work pattern: Shifts across Monday – Saturday 8am -6pm
Fixed term: 27/04/25 - 30/06/2025 (onsite, no remote working)

REQUIREMENTS

To excel in this role, you should possess the following experience and skills.

EXPERIENCE- ESSENTIAL

  • Medical Degree with full GMC registration and a license to practice.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in clinical trials or research, with exposure to leadership or mentorship roles.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and protocol adherence.
  • Familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines and ethical standards in clinical research.

EXPERIENCE – PREFERABLE

  • Exposure to therapeutic areas such as Obesity, dementia, oncology, and infectious diseases /Vaccines.
  • Knowledge of EMS Healthcare’s mobile clinical services or managed service models.
  • Interest in pursuing further academic qualifications, such as a MSc, PhD in a relevant field.

KEY SKILLS

  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments in a clinical research setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage with internal teams, patients, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in regulatory compliance and data integrity.
  • Proficient in clinical trial management systems and electronic data capture platforms.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a full driver’s licence
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Passion for delivering high-quality clinical research services and improving patient outcomes.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a field-based role while supporting a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • A willingness to engage in continuous learning and development within clinical research.
