Research Physicist Job Description The Physics and Electro-Optics Group at the company is looking for a Research Physicist reporting to the Director of Physics and Electro-Optics. Role and Responsibilities: The Research Physicist will be part of the Physics R&D Group, working with a team of scientists on a variety of projects in Infrared Detector and Laser Diode technologies. The remit will include the development of modeling, in particular, of IR detectors at pixel level with semiconductor and optical simulations. The successful candidate is also expected to provide theoretical expertise and guidance to members of the Physics R&D Group. Specific responsibilities will also include: Accompany development projects with simulation and modeling support Contribute to the development of analytical solutions to complex problems Collaborate actively with other disciplines and groups in the organization, providing feedback and support from a physics perspective Closely cooperate with other physicists in the Physics Group Conduct experimental measurements in a laboratory environment and characterize devices to improve agreement between simulation and experiment Contribute to Physics Group strategy development Adhere to high quality standards and attention to detail in reporting and presentation of results Background requirements: PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics / Optoelectronics or a related field in science and engineering Very strong theoretical background and analytical skills An MSc-qualified candidate with a relevant background, exceptional achievement and excellent track record may be considered At least 3-5 years of relevant experience Solid technical experience in at least three of the following fields: Semiconductors, Solid State Physics, Electro-Optics, Optoelectronic Devices, Semiconductor Lasers, Device Simulation, Data Analysis. Skillset Requirements: t-cad experience is required Proficiency in Matlab is mandatory, Python an advantage Simulation experience using industry-grade software-advantage Outstanding analytical skills with a data-driven mindset Creativity and critical thinking Holistic view of problems at system level Demonstrated achievement in leading innovation and change Convincing leadership capabilities Strong presentation skills and ability to create high-quality visualization of results and trends Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills Extensive multi-tasking capabilities Ability to work under pressure and to rigid deadlines The work is not hybrid Job location: Leshem Institute - Misgav
