Eco-Tec, A Kovalus Separation Solutions Company is looking for a Research/Process Engineering Specialist to join our team in our Pickering, ON location.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to team members and other departments including review and approval of equipment selection and sizing sheets, sales package (costing sheets and sales proposals) and other project documents.
  • Support Sales & Marketing team in project qualification.
  • Review and evaluate technical information received and develop the design basis.
  • Carry out process design/optimization, equipment selection and sizing.
  • Develop engineering drawings, PFD, P&ID, equipment layout, etc.
  • Prepare Process Design Packages (PDP) for systems about to sell or sold as required.
  • Manage industrial research and development projects, including hands-on work in the lab and pilot area.
  • Maintain database, process design manuals, experimental data and reports.
  • Design experiments and experimental apparatus at the bench, lab and pilot scales, including implementation of process control.
  • Operate and troubleshoot analytical equipment (e.g. ICP, AA IC etc.) to validate process performance.
  • Physically able to work in lab/pilot environments including lifting, climbing and working with PPE.
  • Prepare written technical evaluations of new products and processes, including the review and summary of technical literature, preparation of process schematics, preparation of mass and energy balances.
  • Actively engage in product development by proposing innovative ideas to maximize value proposition.
  • Support Technical Service, Sales & Marketing, and Systems Engineering departments as required for technical and process related issues.
  • Prepare economic evaluations, ROI analyses and competitor comparisons.
  • Compliance with the Company’s Workplace Health and Safety Rules, Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the manager.
