Description

This senior level research position will provide management, direction, and supervision to studies, including the MenoBrain study, at the Center for Women’s Biobehavioral Health, under the direction or Dr. Rebecca Thurston. This position provides an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong research background who is eager to contribute to a large research program focused on women’s cardiovascular and brain health. It provides experience managing large research projects and actively contributing to the scientific and intellectual direction of the Center.

Responsibilities
  • Hire, train and supervise research staff; conduct annual employee performance reviews.
  • Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of study data collection and management, including data flow, data entry and verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security and confidentiality.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, including timely ordering and receipt of required supplies and their proper storage.
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of relevant regulatory documents, such as IRB submissions.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external team members and laboratories/facilities to update progress on projects and develop reports as needed.
  • Assist with preparation NIH and other grant submissions and reports on all program grants and projects.
  • Opportunities to collaborate in writing research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals, with opportunities for authorship and research presentations as is desired.
  • Interface with community advisory board and other community groups.
  • Masters degree in Psychology, Health Sciences with 6 years of research experience

OR

  • PhD in Psychology, Health Sciences or related field and at least 2 years experience.
  • Experience working with human subjects.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Prior supervisory and training experience required.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with participants, staff, and faculty.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
