Description:

We are seeking a Research Program Assistant II to be responsible for coordinating multiple research studies. One of the primary studies is a multi-center collaborative project aimed at decreasing the rate of acute kidney injury (AKI) in hospitalized children, which will be overseen by Dr. Jeff Fadrowski. Another major study is aimed at improving outcomes in children receiving dialysis. This project is overseen by Dr. Rebecca Ruebner. In addition, there are multiple other active research studies including industry-sponsored pharmaceutical trials for which the research assistant may be responsible. The research assistant must be capable of balancing multiple tasks at once, acting independently, and performing proactively.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Division’s Research Program Supervisor, faculty/principal investigators, fellows, and staff. We are a collegial division where personal and professional development is encouraged in an environment of mutual respect.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma/GED required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline strongly preferred.
  • One-year prior experience working in clinical research is preferred.
  • Must be highly motivated, organized, personable, willing to learn, responsible, reliable, and efficient.
  • Must be comfortable working with patient populations.

    Starting Salary Range: $15.50 - $26.00 HRLY ($40,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Screening and enrollment of study participants.
  • IRB applications as well as changes in research and continuing reviews.
  • Primary collection of study data, data entry, and database management.
  • Assisting faculty with study development including creation of data collection tools and promotional materials.
  • Possible opportunities for data analysis and contribution to scholarly products.
  • Facilitation of study visits and ensuring that study procedures are done in accordance with the study protocol and ethical guidelines.
  • Communication with study participants to schedule study visits and promote study retention.
  • Working with internal and external study monitors to ensure that proper documentation of all study procedures and administrative requirements.
