The Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a Research Program Coordinator who will assist in protocol implementation, typically for one to three studies under the supervision of a Research Program Manager and two to four principal investigators in the departments of Antimicrobial Stewardship and Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator(s) and the Research Program Manager, the Research Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall monitoring of research projects and activities related to the development and implementation of study protocols.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
• Access to reliable transportation for nursing home visits.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with patients.
• Experience in record abstraction and data entry.
• Prior coursework in biology, microbiology, infectious diseases, public health, global/international health, environmental health, and/or biostatistics.
• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, REDCap, Qualtrics, Zotero, and RefWorks.

• Implement and coordinate all activities of several single and multisite research studies in collaboration with the Research Program Manager and PIs, ensuring adherence to protocols and timelines, to assure validity of findings and timely completion of deliverables.
• Create, update, and oversee basic tracking databases/spreadsheets based on study requirements utilizing Excel, Access, REDCap, Qualtrics, or similar software applications, ensuring all record management is continuously organized and current.
• Manage supply, equipment, and gift card ordering and inventories.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail in tracking study progress, maintaining study timelines, logging expenditures, maintaining thorough regulatory and research documentation, performing quality control, and managing databases.
• Collaborate and correspond with internal and external investigators and clinicians to serve as a resource and liaison regarding protocol requirements, updates on protocol implementation status, and ongoing and planned study activities.
• Assist with toolkit revisions by coordinating and implementing needed edits on toolkit documents.
• Assist with survey development and distribution in collaboration with PIs and Co-Investigators.
• Conduct a patient medical record chart review that requires clinical understanding and interpretation.
• Coordinate and participate in study site visits for fluorescent gel sampling.
• Manage data entry for fluorescent gel sampling by ensuring accurate completion of field data collection sheets, organizing source data in OneDrive, entering data into REDCap, updating the Gantt sampling chart, and developing reports to synthesize study data.
• Coordinate scheduling of internal and multisite study team meetings and identify needs for ad hoc meetings and follow-up tasks.
• Prepare meeting agendas for internal and multisite study team meetings, PowerPoint presentations that synthesize study data (e.g., summarizing information, graphs, figures, slides), and meeting minutes as records of the meetings’ discussions.
• Prepare PowerPoint slides and Excel graphs on behalf of PIs and co-investigators for presentations to sponsors and colleagues at academic conferences.
• Participate in abstract and manuscript preparation, including exploring publication venues based on journal impact factor and target audience; formatting manuscript according to author requirements per the selected journal; drafting cover letters, methods and results sections; summarizing results into tables, charts and figures; performing literature reviews; using citation manager to organize references according to journal style; consolidating revisions; and compiling author disclosures.
• Direct manuscripts through all phases of the submission, review, revision, and re-submission process through publication.
