Description Support and promote clinical and translational research and quality projects and activities within the A.T. Still Research Institute (ATSRI) Center for Oral Health Research (COHR) and Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (MOSDOH), in alignment with ATSU's social mission and scholarly strategic planning areas. To this end, assist in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of oral health research and quality improvement outcomes, as well as MOSDOH grant-funded initiatives. Major Job Duties: Student Research Support the teaching of evidence-based dentistry and research methodology. Guide and mentor students in developing, executing, and disseminating research projects. Provide grading, feedback, and guidance on research-related assignments. Support and coordinate student research events, including Research Day activities. Disseminate information on relevant conferences, symposia, and meetings to students. Assist students with preparing and presenting research posters, oral presentations, and manuscripts. Faculty Research Provide guidance to faculty on research proposal development and grant writing. Advise on IRB protocols and assist with submission and compliance. Contribute to the design and delivery of faculty training to enhance research skills and engagement. Support faculty in applying for internal and external grants and funding opportunities. Disseminate information on relevant conferences, symposia, and research meetings to faculty. Assist with the preparation and submission of abstracts, publications, and other scholarly outputs. Collaborate with faculty on ongoing and new research projects and initiatives. Provide assistance with research data management, analysis, and interpretation for faculty-led projects. ATSU / Institutional Research Coordinate basic and clinical outcomes research relevant to MOSDOH’s mission and vision. Develop and submit independent research initiatives aimed at securing internal and external funding. Contribute to ATSU’s scholarly output through publications, presentations, and innovation. Serve on research-related committees (e.g., ATSRI, COHR) as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Research. Support research-related activities across MOSDOH and ATSU, including events & collaborative projects. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific and technical developments. Requirements Ph.D. or other academic doctoral degree in oral health or other health-related field (can be foreign equivalent). Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) (can be foreign equivalent). Experience working with and teaching students (at least 48 months) and faculty (at least 12 months) in all aspects of designing, implementing, and disseminating research findings. Record of publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals. Demonstrated excellence in organizational, interpersonal, and scientific communication skills, supported by the sustained record of peer-reviewed publications. Experience leading and contributing to cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional research and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
