Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with a common machine learning framework (ex. PyTorch)
  • Experience with ML computer vision
  • Experience evaluating and improving the performance (speed, power consumption) of ML systems
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in AR/VR.
  • Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.
  • Experience with C++.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
  • Familiarity with optics, lasers, and sensors.
  • Experience with non-ML computer vision, especially with OpenCV.
  • Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
  • Experience developing software in a research environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning and computer vision-based eye tracking models and systems
  • Work with software engineers, research scientists, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers to incorporate eye tracking models with demos, data collection systems, and other eye tracking systems
  • Create tools, infrastructure, and documentation to accelerate research
  • Collaborate with other research and engineering teams to identify gaps, build solutions, and transfer technology
  • Perform code reviews that improve software engineering quality
  • Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
