Description
Initiates, plans, designs and executes scientific research, experiments and related activities to ensure timely completion of projects. Evaluates results and provides recommendations to management through the partnership with Research Engineers. Assists in the investigation and the feasibility of new product testing Standards by applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. Maintains and develops a basis of scientific knowledge of current and new technologies for new products, as well as current needs and trends. Plans and conducts experiments to measure the body of scientific knowledge on topics related to safety science. Stays ahead of changing technologies, in the field by reading journals, scientific publications, and attending academic conferences. Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought. Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. Performs other duties as directed.
