The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.
Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.
Four new Bachelors in specialised Nursing sciences (Anesthesia/Ressuscitation, Surgery, Pediatrics, Psychiatry) started in 2023.The Bachelor in General Nursing Care was launched in 2024. In September 2025, the Bachelor in Midwifery and the Bachelor in Radiology will start.
All of these academic Bachelors combine theoretical training using the latest technology with practical training in hospitals, clinics, or outpatient clinics in collaboration with various institutes in the country and foreign partners.
In this context, the University is recruiting one Research scientist in Nursing Science.
Your Responsibilities:
The Research Scientist in Nursing Science will be attached to the University on a full-time basis. S/he will have to report to the Directors of the Programs and contribute directly to the development and the excellence of the new Bachelors’ of Science in Nursing. The academic part will be divided between teaching (180 TU/year) and research:
Teaching: The holder of the position will contribute to theoretical and practical teaching and conduct evaluation of the course. More precisely, the physical presence of students in medicine, biology, nursing, radiology and midwifery on Belval Campus provides us with the possibility of establishing common courses, in order to help students discovering and understanding the specificities of their discipline-specific training at a very early stage of their education.
Research: The candidate will be responsible for developing his/her own research program and contribute to the Nursing Education Research Programs (NERP) in collaboration with internal partners on Belval Campus (Faculties and Interdisciplinary Centres) and with external national and international partners.
Coordination: The candidate will support the coordination of one of the Bachelors of specialisation by contributing to establish the teaching staff, the course schedules, the teaching programme in close contact with the Director of the study , the study program administrators and the project officers.
