Description
The Meta Reality Labs Audio team is looking for a Research Scientist Intern, Acoustic. In this role, you will be involved in development of innovative numerical techniques and models to enhance the audio user experience of Meta products. You will apply your knowledge, experience and expertise to solve complex engineering and technological challenges. Our internships are sixteen (16) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year. Responsibilities Collaborate with Audio and Acoustic Engineers to develop sophisticated numerical models to characterize the performance of sensors and transducers, integration, and the interactions with acoustic environments Conduct lab validation tests and data analysis to validate and verify the numerical models Correlate the models and measurements Minimum Qualifications Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in engineering: audio, acoustics, physics, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or related field Experience in acoustic simulation using lumped element method and 3D numerical modeling, etc Experience in using commercial numerical modeling tools, such as COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools Familiarity with data acquisition tools, such as Audio Precision, SoundCheck, MATLAB/Simulink, Python or equivalent tools Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment Preferred Qualifications Experience in computational fluid dynamics and aeroacoustic modeling and measurement Understanding of electro-mechano-acoustic systems design and modeling Understanding of theory of acoustics and aeroacoustics Knowledge of solving large and complex models with high performance computing Knowledge of MEMS microphone acoustic performance Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op $7,313/month to $12,134/month + benefits
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Audio and Acoustic Engineers to develop numerical models for sensor and transducer performance. Conduct lab validation tests and data analysis to verify these models.
