Description
Would you like to take part in making autonomous shipping safe? DNV is seeking a curious and collaborative researcher to help us shape the future of the maritime industry. Autonomous technology, combined with remote monitoring and control, is on the verge of transforming the maritime industry. These innovations are expected to significantly impact how we transport goods and people across the world’s oceans in the future. While the progress has begun, critical steps remain to ensure these systems can be deployed in a safe and transparent manner, with predictable behaviour that builds trust. That challenge is at the heart of what we do in DNV. You will be part of a team of researchers dedicated to finding answers on how we can build trust into these novel and complex technologies, to ensure that they operate safely even when the consequences of failure are high. The autonomy team is part of DNV’s strategic research unit, Group Research and Development (GRD). GRD currently employs close to 130 talented researchers covering a wide range of topics of strategic importance to DNV. Our research focuses on areas where DNV has a strong presence, including Maritime and Energy, as well as emerging fields like Digital Assurance, Food & Ocean Systems, and Healthcare. https://www.dnv.com/research/index.html We conduct strategic and applied research for DNV to advance knowledge and demonstrate new technologies, working closely with academic and industry partners. We are a diverse group of researchers of different educational backgrounds, ages and nationalities, in a company that believes Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strengthens our ability to deliver on our Purpose, Vision and Values. We strongly encourage women, people of colour, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities to apply. https://www.dnv.com/about/diversity-dei/
