Job Summary:
The Department of Emergency Medicine and the Airways, Trauma, Lung Injury and Sepsis (ATLAS) Lab Research Program seeks motivated applicants for the position of Research Services Principal Professional. The research projects focus on critically ill and injured patients in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units, including trauma and medical patients. This position is responsible for Clinical Coordinating Center duties within the ATLAS lab for multicenter trials, including study planning, execution, site monitoring, site management and other duties as described below. The Principal Investigator is Adit Ginde, MD, MPH, Professor and Vice Chair for Research, Department of Emergency Medicine.
The ATLAS Lab will be hiring multiple candidates to support this work. These positions are currently limited to a two-year term, and may be extended based on future funding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in project start up, implementation and close out functions
  • Develop, review, maintain regulatory and other project documentation
  • Coordinate site visits and other meetings with key stakeholders
  • Develop protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Case Report Forms (CRFs).
  • Maintains subject level documentation and prepares documents, equipment and/or supplies
  • May perform supervision and management responsibilities for a team of 2 or more professionals
  • Participate in tactical and strategic project development and planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Three (3) years clinical research or related experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field
  • Four (4) years of clinical research or related experience
  • Experience with managing multi-center clinical trials
  • Study monitoring experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) degree and two (2) additional years of experience will substitute for the BSN degree
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)
  • Clinical research regulatory experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as
$65,545 - $76,687.
The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
