The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health. This is a grant funded contractual position. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: monitor OSH awareness sessions at LEADs provide technical input to SPARC in creation, adaptation, and modification of OSH materials ensure occupational health hazards are addressed in line with best practices oversee WASH awareness sessions provide guidance to SPARC on development and revision of WASH materials ensure promotion of hygiene and safe water practices in project areas review and supervise cases of occupational injuries and diseases referred from LEADs provide medical guidance for appropriate referral pathways ensure clinical protocols and ethical standards are followed provide technical mentoring to project staff and partners build capacity of local health workers on OSH/WASH practices participate in project reviews and contribute medical/technical inputs compile and validate data for reporting on OSH, WASH, and direct services components. Requirements: You should have: MBBS with a Masters in Public Health or equivalent valid registration with Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) additional training or certification in Occupational Health, Public Health, or WASH will be an advantage minimum three years of professional experience in public health or occupational health hands-on experience in conducting or supervising OSH/WASH sessions, training, and community interventions prior experience working with NGOs, community-based projects, or vulnerable populations is desirable strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles, WASH standards, and primary healthcare delivery ability to review, adapt, and guide educational/awareness materials skills in monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of health programs excellent interpersonal, communication, and mentoring abilities commitment to community engagement and rights-based approaches basic skills of MS Word and MS Power point. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.

Responsibilities

The role involves monitoring OSH and WASH awareness sessions and providing technical guidance for the creation of educational materials. Additionally, the specialist will supervise occupational injury cases and build the capacity of local health workers.
