Research Statistician    Organization Summary   The Center for Nutrition & Health Impact (CNHI) is a nonprofit research institute providing expertise in measurement and evaluation to help develop, enhance and expand programs focused on healthy eating and active living, improving food security and healthy food access, and promoting local food systems. With expertise in public health nutrition, CNHI is dedicated to building measurement strategies to assess the impact of innovative health-related programs. For more information about CNHI, please visit www.centerfornutrition.org [http://www.centerfornutrition.org/].    Job Summary  The Research Statistician leads and/or provides oversight for all aspects of organization-wide statistical procedures by ensuring that all project components including, but not limited to, workplans, project plans, measurement tools, data management, data storage, data analysis, and deliverables align with appropriate and accurate statistical protocols.  The Research Statistician will also be involved in scientific and academic activities such as conceiving and developing manuscripts and conference presentations.    Job Duties and Responsibilities  * Oversees organization-wide statistical procedures by ensuring that all project components align with appropriate and accurate statistical protocols.    * Provide internal consulting support on research designs and analysis plans for all CNHI projects.    * Assist in developing project proposals through designing analytic plans including power analysis and sample size calculation.   * Ensure all measurement tools align with statistical protocols by participating in planning sessions and reviewing quantitative tools.   * Oversee data entry and storage procedures by developing plans, designing spreadsheets, and reviewing codebooks.   * Compile project related data streams into a single coherent dataset for analysis.   * Examine datasets to identify discrepancies, patterns and create visualization. * Write programs in SAS,R, SQL, or SPSS for data extraction, analysis, trend recognition, reporting, and hypothesis testing etc. * Manage datasets, including merging, recoding, and cleaning data using statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, SPSS), and ensure that data are ready for analysis. * Ensure the accuracy of all statistical analyses and output by conducting quantitative analyses and reviewing statistical output.   * Support the development of project deliverables by attending planning sessions, writing report sections, developing tables/graphs, and reviewing deliverables for statistical alignment.    * Respond to ad-hoc data analysis requests from CNHI staff and clients.   * Compile and maintain a repository of validated survey measures (paper and a Qualtrics library of web-based versions).Provide guidance to CNHI staff about statistical methodologies, analysis programming practices, and appropriate interpretations of results as needed.   * Assist in the development/co-authorship of manuscripts. * Serve in a supervisory role, as assigned.   * Other tasks as assigned.   Preferred Qualifications  * Master’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, economics, or related field.   * Biostatistical and/or epidemiological background.   * Experience with public health nutrition interventions, including community-engaged programs. * Strong theoretical and applied statistical skills.   * Proficient in at least one database platform (Microsoft Access, Oracle, SQL).   * Proficient in SAS, and SPSS, Stata, or R, including the planned analytical methods needed such as mixed modeling, multivariable analysis, latent class analysis. * Experience with publishing in peer reviewed journals.   * Excellent organization, planning, and writing skills.   * Ability to multi-task, collaborate, and prioritize to meet deadlines.    * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom).      Work Requirements  * Maintain a productive, comfortable, and distraction free remote work environment.  * Comply with the CNHI work schedule.  * Follow care and security standards for CNHI-issued equipment.  * Supply your own Internet connection, allowing for seamless communication for video conferencing.    Physical Requirements  The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
