The Department of Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a Research Support Coordinator position. The incumbent performs a variety of duties involved in the collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical and genetic research data for multiple assigned studies. Moreover, the incumbent organizes and coordinates professional development with the project team and acts as liaison between the University and project partners.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

  1. Recruits Law enforcement, prehospital agencies, colleges, motorcycle clubs and hospitals for training
    a. Paperwork, sign in sheets, presentations, equipment transport and set up, schedules, certificates
    b. Enters students into databases up to date and logs success of each agency
  2. Organizes, hosts, and participates in community education outreach activities to recruit study
    participants.
  3. Serves as the primary contact person for referral sites.
  4. Meets with clinical assessment participants to explain the purpose of the project and procedures and
    obtains informed consent.
    a. Follow up tracking of subjects using EMR
    b. Cell phone service utilized for this is utilized and kept up to date
    c. Data entry
  5. Assists with the preparation and monitoring of IRB documents, administers clinical interviews, and
    coordinates all assessment and patient contact activity.
  6. Tracks participants through all stages of the research program.
  7. Ensures that relevant protocols are implemented in a rigorous fashion and supervises the
    implementation of data quality assurance procedures.
  8. Handles financial and all other grant reporting responsibilities including concept paper
  9. Participates in new program development.
  10. Monitors revenue cycle for external contracts and relationships, including functions outsourced, core and
    bolt-on technologies, specialty recovery vendors, and collection agencies.
  11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  12. Attends 50% MCSC quarterly meetings and records accomplishments and goals regarding strategic plan
  13. Coordinates all clinical assessment projects
  14. Sets up regular meeting for team to review status of all projects
  15. Keeps and active log of all projects and status
