Description

Are you curious about our new lab for the development of synthetic fibers? Do you want to contribute to a globally sustainable textile industry together with us, our partners, and customers? Then we are looking for you!
The textile sector is undergoing a significant transition towards more sustainable and circular fiber materials, presenting both challenges and opportunities. RISE supports Swedish companies in their innovation efforts by developing competitive solutions that drive sustainable development forward. As part of this mission, the Fiber Development unit is seeking an experienced and driven research scientist with expertise in synthetic fibers and their applications.

ABOUT US

At our facility in Mölndal, we host Sweden’s largest laboratory for fiber development. Here, we create the fiber materials of tomorrow, focusing on functionality, sustainability, and resource efficiency. Our team offers a test and demonstration environment with associated expertise in textile fiber development, used for projects related to optimization, validation, and research. We have extensive expertise in extrusion of filaments, from producing textile fibers using bio-based or recycled raw materials to developing high-performance and specialty fibers.

WHO ARE YOU?

To succeed in this role, you should have extensive knowledge and experience in fiber material development, particularly related to melt spinning or melt-spun fibers, and understand how fiber properties affect the functions of textile materials. You are motivated by developing new fiber materials based on societal challenges and customer needs.
We are looking for someone driven by building relationships, creating collaborations, expanding the research area of melt-spun fibers, and developing services for our customers and partners. You enjoy customer interactions and networking and have a natural ability to establish trust and credibility. With an eye for new opportunities, you excel at nurturing relationships and developing long-term collaborations. As a proactive and self-sufficient individual, you also thrive in a team environment. You stay actively updated on the research front and industry needs and see opportunities to create new collaborations in technology and material development.
We believe you come from a background in applied research and have experience in research and development within a European company, for example as a product developer in technical textiles.
