JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision to provide routine technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
The Biochemistry Research Technician 2 will support departmental research by performing experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and assisting with data collection and analysis. The role involves working closely with principal investigators and research staff to ensure accurate, reproducible results and compliance with lab safety and regulatory standards. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in biochemistry techniques, molecular biology, and protein analysis who are eager to contribute to cutting-edge research.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Education
Completion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology or relevant field or
High School graduation including courses in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc.
Experience
1 year of experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with Completion of two (2) years of college or
3 years of laboratory experience including two years as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with High School graduation

Assists in conducting experiments and working on research problems in such fields as physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry, and other related fields by performing basic, routine, and least complex procedures as prescribed by supervisor.
Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
Records resulting data in accordance with established methods. Confers with supervisor concerning results obtained, and modifies procedures in accordance with instruction of supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned.
