POSITION SUMMARY

The Lin Lab and Wang Lab in the Department of Pathology are jointly seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Part-Time Research Technician. This role supports both labs through data management, basic data analysis, and general laboratory operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in Biology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Data Science, or a related field
  • Strong interest in translational oncology and immunology research
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience in cell culture, mouse handling, immunology, or molecular biology (training will be provided)
  • Minimum one-year commitment preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Training: Associate degree in a science-related field (e.g., biology, botany, zoology, psychology)
  • Experience: None required beyond education/training
  • Equivalent combinations of relevant education and/or experience will be considered

Responsibilities
  • Work with de-identified patient samples and prepare them for next-generation sequencing (NGS)
  • Assist in sequencing data analysis and data management
  • Support general lab operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventories (animals, cell lines, reagents), and equipment upkeep
  • Contribute to research publications, literature reviews, and documentation
  • Collaborate with lab members on specific projects
  • Optional: Hands-on training in mouse husbandry, cell culture, and other wet lab techniques, depending on experience and interest
