POSITION SUMMARY
The Krais Lab is seeking a technician to work on DNA damage response and cancer biology projects. Current projects investigate how cells navigate a complex signaling environment following DNA damage and ultimately engage one of several possible repair mechanisms. We are exploring 1) how DNA damage signaling impacts tumor progression and therapy responses, and 2) how DNA damage response alterations can be exploited to treat and prevent cancer.
This technician role will receive on the job training to work with in vitro and in vivo cancer models. Applicants are encouraged to visit the lab website to learn more about our research strategy, including the in vivo studies relevant for this position. There will be opportunities for involvement in additional projects, including the possibility of playing a lead role in a future study. This role will work directly with the PI, lab manager, postdocs, graduate students, undergraduate researchers, as well as with staff from collaborating laboratories. Success in this position will require a collaborative and team-oriented mindset, strong organizational skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for cancer research.
