Greg Hurst¿s lab at the University of Liverpool seeks a grade 5 research technician with experience in insect husbandry, experimentation, and molecular biology to assist in a project exploring how symbionts move between host species and how they are impacted by environmental conditions. The primary duties will be to perform experiments on insect-symbiont interactions, along with DNA extraction, PCR and qPCR assays as needed, and to maintain research records. The successful candidate will work in a collegial, supportive environment, contribute to lab meetings and journal clubs if desired, and, have the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques.
You should have a BTEC Higher Level (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences or related discipline.
