POSITION SPECIFICS A position is available immediately for a Research Technologist of Life Sciences Senior Professional in the Assmann laboratory, which studies plant abiotic stress responses from the molecular to the whole plant level. The successful applicant will have primary responsibility for electrophysiology experiments. The successful applicant will perform laboratory research under the supervision of Prof. Assmann. Experiments will include the following techniques: electrophysiology, confocal imaging, microscopy, plant and animal cell preparation. General lab maintenance, including plant growth and maintenance, dishwashing and autoclaving, preparation of stock solutions, ordering, and data management will be required. Participation in lab meetings is expected. Must work effectively in a team setting, be able to communicate well, and keep clear records. Specific skills that are necessary also include data management using standard software. The successful applicant must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work both semi-independently and collaboratively in a research team, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and the PI.
