RESEARCH & TRAINING LIBRARIAN

(Full-time, Hybrid or Remote)
Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Research & Training Librarian to join our team. In this essential role, you will contribute to the seamless operation of our services, providing crucial support to our department in delivering exceptional client service and maintaining our commitment to excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum – MLIS or MLS
  • 3-5 years of law firm or corporate library experience.
  • Savvy technology skills using an array of online legal and business research tools.
  • Proficiency with Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Lex Machina, Trellis, VitalLaw, vLex and related legal research products.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of general library practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in teaching end users to effectively utilize print and online resources.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service.
  • Experience with Labor & Employment research resources strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts high quality, efficient legal and non-legal research utilizing online databases & AI assisted resources.
  • Conducts legal data analysis to include mining raw data from dockets, legal documents, and legal research databases.
  • Assists with business development efforts including ongoing litigation alerting and complaint pulls.
  • Assists with ongoing tracking of legislative, regulatory, and local government updates.
  • Provides onboarding and training assistance to attorneys and paralegals in use of the firm’s library collection and commercial research databases.
  • Maintains multiple databases and contributes relevant materials to the document management system.
  • Monitors news/trends and prepares current awareness alerts for attorneys and practice groups on legal, business, and industry developments.
  • Prepares written orientation materials, bibliographies, and guides for library use.
  • Stays up to date with current information and updates Research Services Director on new library services trends.
  • Attends local librarian events and conferences upon request.
  • Willingness to take on new tasks associated with emerging responsibilities, as determined by Research Services Director.
