Position Summary:
Researcher – Biomechanics and Human Factors
Onsite: Seattle, WA
This position will support multiple programs and research in the Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality domains. We are looking for creative researchers to tackle challenging and exciting problems in support of the Reality Labs Human Factors Pathfinding UXR team. In this role, you will help explore input devices for the next generation of computing with a focus on physical comfort, natural motion, biomechanics, and human motor systems. You will play an active role in designing, planning, and running fast-paced research studies in a new research laboratory. The role will require technical competence in data
collection and processing of biomechanical time series data, such as kinematics, EMG, and force data. You’ll work closely with prototypers, engineers, and other researchers seeking to design computing for the future!

Education:
Must-Have Skills
· Human participant research experience
· Knowledge and understanding of kinematics, forces, and electromyography (EMG) data., Experience with these sensors: three dimensional motion capture, forceplates, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure sensors, electromyography, etc…
· Data analysis using a computer language (e.g. Matlab/Python/R) to filter, visualize and process data, especially in three dimensions, C-Motion Visual 3D (ability to write and execute scripts)
Nice-to-have Skills
· Meta Experience
· Record of presenting and publishing experiments in journals and/or at scientific conferences
