Description:
Your job at Rijk Zwaan?
As a Researcher Biostatistics you develop methodology, templates and tools that enable your R&D colleagues to easily analyze their data. Your programming skills will be key in translating both new and established biostatistical data analysis methodologies into analytical tools. Your focus lies on developing the tools, enhancing their accessibility and improving their analytical performance.
Where will you be working?
Rijk Zwaan is an international family business with a people-oriented corporate culture. Positioned at the beginning of the food chain, we develop vegetable varieties and sell their seeds to growers and other partners worldwide. In doing so, we make a significant contribution to global food security. This vacancy is for a position within the Biostatistics research department — a diverse and international team of researchers passionate about statistics, genetics and data analysis. Every day, we apply our statistical expertise in breeding by closely collaborating with colleagues from other R&D departments.
Your contribution:
You are a team player with analytical skills and a creative mind who likes to work on end-user solutions at different expertise levels. You like to take initiative and you dare to be critical. You have a keen interest in the development of tools and templates in R or R/Shiny and in statistical data analysis. You like to work in an interdisciplinary environment and your communication skills enable you to easily interact with the many different people and groups within and outside the company. In addition, we can find the following on your CV:
- an MSc or PhD in biology, genetics or statistics
- extensive experience with coding in R and expertise in R/Shiny
- proficiency in English
What can you expect from us?
In this position, as an independent researcher, you can expect the freedom to actively explore new methodologies and solutions. We are happy to offer you:
- A permanent contract from the start (32-38 hours/week)
- Good salary, based on job level and experience
- The possibility to travel abroad for conferences and relevant trainings
- The freedom to take the initiative and to develop yourself further within an organization where 30% of the turnover is invested in R&D
