Description
JOB Code - CEL/001 Researcher | Community Empowerment Lab (CEL) Do you envision an organization beyond rigid structures and hierarchy – as a living, breathing system where people, learning, and energy flow purposefully? Community Empowerment Lab (CEL) is a purpose-driven evidence-to-scale lab working to transform the care of mothers and newborns across India and the Global South. We work at the intersection of rigorous science and human experience, co-creating and scaling health systems and community-led solutions for maternal, newborn, and child health. At CEL, we are sparking a movement where science and compassion come together to build a thriving world – one mother, one newborn, one community at a time. To bring this vision alive from the inside out, within our research, we are seeking a Researcher, someone who can help shape CEL’s research architecture. The Role You will collaborate with the Director of Research Systems and a dynamic team of scientists to transform how CEL’s research delivers real-time impact for communities. By blending robust scientific expertise with an innovator’s mindset, you will challenge conventions, advance frontiers, and accelerate the translation of evidence into life-saving solutions. As a key leader, you will shape CEL’s approach to scientific inquiry and impact by designing research frameworks and collaborative methodologies grounded in compassion, rigour, and excellence. Through your guidance, CEL will cultivate a culture of continuous learning, dynamic knowledge exchange, and evidence-based innovation—ensuring our research generates new insights and delivers meaningful outcomes for the communities and partners we serve. Your work will include: • Lead the design of rigorous research protocols (cluster RCTs, implementation science, mixed-methods studies). • Drive/Support proposal development, donor reporting, grant management, and ethical reviews. • Supervise research teams, field operations, and ensure data quality and adherence to SOPs. • Develop advanced statistical analysis plans using R, STATA, or equivalent tools, including SPSS, SAS, or Python libraries (e.g., pandas, stats models). • Publish/contribute in peer-reviewed journals and present findings to academic, policy, and practitioner audiences. • Collaborate with government, academia, frontline health workers, and community partners. • Mentor early-career researchers and contribute to institutional research capacity building. Who You Are • You hold a PhD, MD, DrPH, or equivalent advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Paediatrics, or a related field. • You have a publication record and proven experience in securing competitive research grants. • You bring expertise in implementation research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and mixed methods approaches. • You have successfully led/part of multisite research teams working in low-resource settings. • You possess a deep understanding of ethical guidelines, research governance, and donor compliance standards. • You are committed to innovation, capacity building, and advancing public health impact through rigorous research and collaboration. At CEL, you’ll join a team that believes in science with soul, combining intellectual rigour with deep compassion for those we serve. Location Anywhere in Uttar Pradesh (India). We may consider hybrid arrangements for the right candidate. Application Procedure: If you find this opportunity aligns with your skills and passion, we welcome you to apply by following these steps: The last date to apply will be 15 December 2025.
