Description:

The Researcher IV will provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support. This role supports over 100 scientists and management staff through travel arrangements, credit card reconciliations, timekeeping, and general office functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
This position requires and active USACCESS clearance or the ability to obtain one to be considered.

RESEARCHER IV EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUESTED:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (Master’s preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), enzyme assays, and data analysis (QA/QC experience preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in method development and optimization for biochemical analyses.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork and project meetings.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation.
  • Develop and validate analytical methods for quantifying thiamine and thiaminase activity in environmental matrices.
  • Perform sample preparation, analysis, and data generation using enzyme assays and HPLC.
  • Ensure data accuracy through rigorous quality assurance and control procedures.
  • Organize and manage data using appropriate software, ensuring traceability and accessibility.
  • Assist in visualizing and reporting findings through tables, graphs, and written summaries.
  • Collaborate in research meetings and support experimental design and interpretation.
  • Adhere to all safety, biosecurity, and procedural protocols.
  • Provide project updates through regular written and verbal communication with the team lead.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
