RESERVATIONS AGENT SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
· Exceptional customer care skills.

· Good communication skills
· Proficiency in English Language is strongly preferred
· Guestline PMS/Rezlinx system experience is preferable
· Previous experience in hotel environment is preferable

We are looking for a reservations Agent that understands what it takes to be the best and preferably with proven success in a similar environment.
The successful Reservation Agent will undertake the following duties:
· To take booking(s) via telephone and email entering the correct details into the computer system.
· To ensure daily arrivals checks are completed
· To ensure the daily commissions function is updated
· To track all confirmed bookings for commission invoices to be raised monthly by accounts
· Update reservations where necessary, either amendments or cancellations.
· To manage both individual(s) and group(s) enquiries
· To assist the front desk staff with any reservation queries
· To assist the accounts office with any reservation queries
· To enter group reservations and groups rooming lists into the system
· To ensure all correspondence relating to individual is prioritised, responded to where required, correctly filed and logged/updated and the guest informed on their reservation
· To work along with events department ensuring an efficient and effective room allocation is done to conferences and events residential business
· To have a strong understanding of the reservation systems used by the hotel and third-party websites
· Understanding individual and group reservation rates
· Upselling or upgrading customer requests as and when required in an attempt to upsell
· Good organisation skills and task management
· To action any sales activity set by the Reservations Manger when required
· To effectively and efficiently carry out all aspects of the reservations agent’s duties to the hotel standards, achieving continued guest satisfaction
· To know the hotel reception procedures, accounting procedure(s) and any other departments’ procedures which aspects are relevant to reservations and ensure that these are carried out to the standards required by the hotel and the company
· To ensure that the Reservations Manager, the Front Office Manager and Duty Manager are aware of any guest special requirement(s) so that appropriate departments can be informed and requests followed up accordingly
· To be fully aware of all current promotions and restrictions attached to the reservations.
· To be able to carry out reservations’ roles and any other reasonable task requested by the reservations’ manager/revenue manager
· To maintain the filing systems containing all correspondence relating to all reservations taken
· Ensure the telephone and email etiquette is maintained at all times as per the hotel standards
· To maintain good liaison, communication and working relationships with colleagues, management and all other departments.
