POSITION SUMMARY This Reserving Analyst post assists with the actuarial analysis of the reserves needed to support the exposures of company re/insurance products, and the completion of regulatory reporting requirements for the reserves. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Perform quarterly reserving process and supporting reserving decisions. Analyze the quarterly results to understand and explain the relationship between the reserving decisions and claim movements to stakeholders. Respond to questions both internally and from the external actuaries and auditors. Work closely with Underwriting, Finance and Claims, particularly with respect to reporting and understanding the business written. Collate and consider multiple data sources to aid in the annual assumption setting review. Prepare schedules to meet statutory requirements. Maintain ongoing, self-directed professional development and study in relation to the Actuarial exams towards professional qualification (e.g. SAV, IFoA, or CAS). Support design and system implementation and on-going management, validation and reporting of technical solutions. Complete ad hoc assignments, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: A university/college degree in a quantitative discipline such as actuarial science, finance, mathematics, science, economics or engineering. Data manipulation and analysis skills (any experience with Excel, Python, or SQL is useful). Self-motivated, team player who enjoys technical challenges. Strong communication skills.
