Job Summary:
The On-Call Resettlement Worker will provide flexible, on-demand support to the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) team in delivering essential services to Government-Assisted Refugees (GARs). This role involves assisting in various aspects of the resettlement process, including but not limited to greeting clients, providing orientations, and supporting clients in accessing community services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in welcoming and orienting newly arrived refugees to Canada, ensuring they receive the necessary information and support.
• Support with the coordination of transportation, accommodation, and initial resettlement needs.
• Provide indirect support, such as data entry, document management, and reporting.
• Help clients access community resources such as healthcare by scheduling appointments, filling out forms, and providing digital support as needed.
• Support the orientation process by engaging and playing with newcomer children to ensure a welcoming environment for families.
• Respond to on-call requests promptly to address urgent resettlement needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide culturally sensitive, client-centered support.
• Work collaboratively with the RAP team to ensure smooth service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 yr education in Counselling, Social Work, or ECE, or equivalent combination of experience and education
• English language skills minimum CLB 6
• Updated criminal record check, including vulnerable populations check, is required
• Demonstrated competency is utilizing databases and MS Office

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in a second language would be an asset
• Ability to work at short notice and adapt to changing schedules.
• Experience working with children and/or youth from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Attitudes and values in keeping with the goals and philosophies of CVIMS
