JOB OPPORTUNITY – RESIDENCE COOK (PART-TIME)

Location: UMC High School Residence – North York, ON
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: 5–6 days/week, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (hours may vary)
UMC High School is looking for a reliable and dedicated Residence Cook to prepare nutritious meals for our students and residence supervisor. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, is organized, and takes pride in keeping their workspace clean and orderly.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous cooking experience preferred (school, cafeteria, or similar is an asset)
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility and cleanliness
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
    Start Date: As soon as possible
    Location: North York, Ontario

Experience:

  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily dinners for students and the residence supervisor
  • Ensure breakfast items are stocked and available each morning
  • Collaborate with school staff on grocery lists and food supply needs
  • Develop weekly and monthly menus for management approval
  • Take daily photos of meals and send them to the residence coordinator
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the residence kitchen
  • Wash dishes and manage garbage collection/disposal
  • Report any maintenance issues, items needing purchase, or unusual occurrences to the supervisor
  • Inform supervisor of any student behavioural concerns
  • Assist in welcoming new students when assigned
