Job Title: Residence Program Supervisor
Reports to: Residence Program Manager
Classification: Management, excluded.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.
Reporting to the Residential Program Manager, the Supervisor plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day activities within the home, including training and supervising unionized staff, in accordance with Collective Agreement, Agency Policy and Procedure, Interior Health Licensing standards, CARF accreditation standards, and CLBC Policy and Procedure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Human Service/Social Work Diploma and three years of experience supporting adults with disabilities in a licensed residential program. Or Human Service/Social Work Certificate and five years of experience supporting adults with disabilities in a licensed residential program. Or a secondary school diploma and 7 years of experience supporting adults with disabilities in a licensed residential program.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience preparing for accreditation and licensing inspections.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with formal training in person-centred behaviour support.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with relevant leadership/supervisor experience in a unionized setting.

To be considered for this role, applicants must be able to clearly demonstrate the following through recent experience:

  • Managing challenging behaviours using a person-centred approach.
  • Anticipating and responding appropriately to day-to-day and complex problems/issues.
  • Ability to manage conflict diplomatically, objectively, and in the best interest of the employee-employer relationship.
  • Ability to recognize when to seek advice or guidance from appropriate sources of expertise such as HR, Program Managers, CLBC Facilitators, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to take direction, follow reasonable instructions, and accept feedback.
