Description
Description College Living Experience San Diego, CA is currently seeking a full-time Resident Advisor who plays a key role in supporting CLE students as they transition to independent living. Resident Advisors provide individualized coaching, support daily routines, help facilitate community engagement, and serve as the sole on-call staff member for after-hours and weekend emergencies. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and committed to helping neurodiverse young adults gain confidence and thrive in a structured, supportive environment. Living Arrangement: This role requires living in the same modern apartment community as our students. You will have your own private apartment within the complex and do not live with students, allowing you to maintain personal space while remaining accessible to the residential community. This position includes evening and weekend on-call schedule coverage. This position requires regular travel between worksites and transporting students in company vehicles. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with at least one year of licensed driving experience and be able to meet company motor vehicle insurance requirements. At College Living Experience (CLE) you will: Make an Impact: CLE is a comprehensive transitional support program for young adults diagnosed with Autism, AD/HD, and/or learning disabilities. Our students are working towards living independent adult lives and they wouldn’t be able to meet this goal without the support of individuals like you. Learn and Grow: Though we come together to support our students, we also prioritize staff development as a part of our core commitments. We provide regular opportunities to learn from each other and engage in conversations about best practices and individualized approaches to learning. Collaborate: We’re a team! We operate in four different domains (academic, career development, social skills, and independent living), but we engage in regular communication, problem solving, brainstorming, and cross-curricular planning. We are dedicated to building an inclusive team that sustains a welcoming community for sharing our diverse perspectives and strengths. As the Resident Advisor you will: · Provide instruction and coaching in independent living skills including meal planning, home organization, financial literacy, and self-care routines. · Assist with housing responsibilities such as rental applications, property communication, and ensuring safe, organized living spaces. · Serve as a positive ambassador for CLE’s housing model during tours with prospective students and families. · Help students build practical tools for daily life including time management, conflict resolution, and self-monitoring strategies. · Support students with medication routines and assist with prescription refills as needed. · Act as a primary advisor to designated students: conduct weekly coaching sessions, maintain communication with families and funders, complete reports, and attend progress meetings. · Provide timely documentation and maintain student progress records, financial trackers, and living skills inventories. · Conduct scheduled and as-needed student check-ins to ensure safety, well-being, and conflict resolution. · Respond to after-hours issues as part of the staff on-call rotation, including emergency healthcare transport and overnight support when necessary. · Ensure students are prepared for emergencies with appropriate kits and knowledge of procedures. · Support and supervise social outings and transportation needs (encouraging use of public transit when possible). · Engage with weekly staff and Independent Living Skills team meetings to provide updates, collaborate on solutions, and contribute to student planning. Job Type: Full-time, on call schedule Pay: $60,000- 62,000 Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person Requirements Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, education, or a related field.
