RESIDENT ADVOCATE

The Gabriel Project of the Crossroads is a non-profit organization that supports pregnant women and their families through emotional, material, housing, and spiritual resources. The Bethlehem Maternity Home offers a Christ-centered residential program with life coaching, medical access, counseling, education and employment support, parenting or adoption assistance, and more—all at no cost.
Position Summary: The Resident Advocate supports the daily operations of the Bethlehem Maternity Home, helping ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for pregnant and parenting mothers. This includes direct support to residents, assisting with schedules, maintaining the home, and providing transportation using the GPOC vehicle. This opening is for a PRN position to cover all shifts when needed. Shifts schedules are 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in residential care, social services, ministry, or a related field preferred
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate empathy while setting and enforcing healthy boundaries
• Proven ability to lead with confidence, maintain a strong presence, and manage situations assertively
• Committed to maintaining confidentiality
• Basic proficiency in computer and phone systems
• Commitment to Christian values and the mission of the Gabriel Project of the Crossroads
• Must pass a background check and complete all required training
  This is a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Bethlehem Maternity Home. The Resident Advocate plays an important part in helping residents stay on track with their goals, ensuring a structured, supportive environment that fosters personal growth and stability for mothers and their children.

• Transport residents and their children to appointments, work, daycare, and essential errands
• Assist the Director with managing resident schedules and routines
• Perform room checks, maintain household inventory, and organize supplies
• Support cleaning and upkeep of shared and private spaces
• Respond to resident needs in a firm, friendly, and supportive manner
• Answer phones and document relevant interactions or issues in the log
• Ensure activities align with GPOC’s Christian values and mission
• Participate in staff development and maintain clear communication with the Director
