Description NORTHWEST NAZARENE UNIVERSITY STUDENT LIFE Resident Director - Culver Hall Residence Life at NNU Northwest Nazarene University houses approximately 700 students in six residence halls. The live-in staff consists of six Resident Directors and approximately 31 Resident Assistants. NNU offers a progressive community development-based program, supported by strong educational programming and a student leadership emphasis within a Christian framework. Student development principles are taught to all staff and are used in programming, advising, and student conduct processes. The program is designed to empower students to be involved in the decision-making process. Description of Position Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for the position of Resident Director for the 2026-2027 academic year. It is an occupational qualification that the university will accept only female applicants for female residence halls and male applicants for male residence halls for live-in positions. Culver Hall is a male only residence hall. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The Resident Director reports to the AVP for Student Life. Coordinates all aspects of the student life programming in Residence Hall. Develops a supportive living-learning community with the aid of four to eight Resident Assistants. Develops relationships with students by mentoring and discipling while they engage in academic environments and with the campus community. Supervises, mentors, trains, and develops programming for their Resident Assistants. Initiates and maintains departmental partnerships across campus for the success of students, with significant relationship with the office of Engagement and Belonging, in effort to retain and persist students to graduation. Maintains awareness and continued education surrounding college needs, mental health, and developmental stages. Collaborates with Student Life department. Serves as needed as representative of Student Life across campus. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree The University requires that all candidates be Christians (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU Ability to perform all essential functions of this position Experience working with young people in groups and individually Demonstrates supervisory, managerial, and listening skills Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree Compensation Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant.
