SUMMARY:

Works in collaboration with residents and team members to create opportunities that offer residents an engaging, active lifestyle and overall wellbeing based on the established dimensions of wellness. The position provides innovative leadership, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders as well as oversees consistent and accurate communications on written and the in-house digital platform engagement related.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field that lends itself to the support of active living in retirement community; wellness, creative arts, social work, recreation, marketing, geriatrics, psychology or related human services field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum three years’ experience working with older adults in a community setting
*
Prior experience in a leadership role preferred

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to relate well to all residents, including those with memory loss.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public.

Responsibilities
  • Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.

    Engagement planning based on a highly organized and collaborative approach with team members and residents based on the dimensions of wellness. Development of a robust calendar of events and programs on a monthly basis that fosters meaningful and fulfilling engagement. Participates in multiple resident committees to gather feedback and offer ideas for new engagement opportunities.

    Identifies opportunities to support residents who may be at risk for social isolation and works with Health Services team to offer outreach services.

Ongoing evaluation of programs in collaboration with residents and team members to determine how to successfully support residents’ wellness goals and to further Loomis’ strategic vision.

  • Connects with leaders across the organization and external partners. Collaborates with Director, Community Engagement to connect residents with outside organizations for engagement and volunteer opportunities.

Supervises Engagement and Fitness teams, Concierges and Transportation Associates, includes hiring, training, scheduling and performance reviews, Resolves team members’ issues or concerns. Promotes a culture of hospitality, wellness, learning, social engagement and physical activity for the residents.

Manages external contractors who provide engagement and fitness services. Shares oversight of the fitness center and pool with Facilities Director to ensure timely replacement/repair of equipment and pool meets health department requirements.

Ensures digital content and written communications related to resident engagement are consistent in appearance, accuracy and timeliness.
*
Orients new residents, completion of annual budget, monitoring monthly expense and payroll variances, defines and tracks key indicators, timely processing of invoices and other financial documents .
