JOB SUMMARY:

Euro Group for Engineering Consultancy, a leading engineering consultancy firm, seeks a highly experienced Resident Engineer - Civil with a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant experience to oversee and supervise the work of contractors on a large-scale infrastructure development project in Madina, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all civil engineering works are executed in accordance with the approved designs, specifications, and contract documents, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires extensive experience in supervising contractors on major infrastructure projects in the Kingdom, strong leadership skills, and fluency in both English and Arabic.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in supervising contractors on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • At least 10 years of experience working on major infrastructure development projects in Saudi Arabia, specifically with engineering consultancy firms.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate contractors, resolve conflicts, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software for construction management and reporting.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.

Responsibilities
  • Contractor Supervision: Directly supervise and manage the work of civil contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards. This involves regular site inspections, monitoring progress, and addressing any deviations from the agreed-upon plans. This includes reviewing and approving contractor submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain a rigorous quality control program, including regular inspections, testing, and documentation, to ensure that all work meets the specified quality standards and complies with relevant regulations. This will involve preparing and reviewing inspection reports and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all construction activities comply with all applicable Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and safety standards. This includes proactive safety oversight and risk management.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor the progress of construction activities, preparing and submitting detailed progress reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders, highlighting any potential issues or risks. This will involve maintaining comprehensive site records, including daily reports and non-compliance reports.
  • Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during construction, ensuring prompt and efficient solutions that minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication and coordination with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient workflow. This includes liaising with the client’s representatives and other stakeholders, communicating technical aspects clearly and concisely.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage potential risks associated with the construction process, implementing mitigation strategies to prevent delays, cost overruns, and safety incidents.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
