Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with at least 15 to 18 years of professional experience at DUBAI with major / leading Developers & Main Contractors. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Consultants Supervision team of engineers and inspectors, having good knowledge of Dubai’s construction regulations (DM / DDA / Trakhees, etc.), overseeing various civil engineering projects from conception to completion and ensuring their successful execution by the appointed Contractor adhering to specifications, drawings and within the stipulated timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering field.
Should have 15-18 years (overall) and five years of experience in mid- and high-rise building project as a Resident Engineer
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Working experience with leading Developers like Nakheel, EMAAR, etc. will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of civil engineering principles and possess excellent problem-solving skills as well as the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. They should have good communication skills in order to effectively collaborate and also be able to communicate effectively with the Supervision team and other stakeholders (Client / Main Contractor).

Responsibilities:

To act as, and to fulfil the duties of the Engineer/Lead Consultant with regard to assigned duties, delegated authority and be directly responsible to the Employer during the construction of the works
Project Management and Supervision
Project Monitoring, planning and control. Establish the programme requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Work is constructed in accordance with the Contract, Drawings and Specifications
Contract is administered in a proper and fair manner
Coordinate with Client/Project Manager, the contractor and concerned authorities. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in meetings in support of Clients
Monitor the closure of all identified risks and opportunities. Visibly support risk identification and mitigation throughout the project
Technical Expertise and Engineering submittals. Review all shop/working/as-built drawings, design proposals, method statements, material submissions, any requests for information relating to the works within the contract. Ensure accuracy, completeness of records and compliance to project KPI for document turnaround.
Ensure that Site Inspections, Quality Control and HSE awareness is carried out according to project requirements, specifications and authority regulations.
Regulatory Compliance and Design Resolutions. Ensuring the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
Manage deployment of resources to create a project team capable of effectively completing the project with best quality standards. Monitor cost aspects of the supervision contract, forecast final costs, identify trends, and take action to avoid cost overruns
Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan and other documents as required.
Identify and eliminate hazards associated with work activities, ensuring a safe working environment. Regular inspection visits to project sites comprise a significant portion of their work time.

Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of quality assurance processes.
Generally, supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of the works. Report to the management on the progress of all project activity within the programme, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule
Act as a bridge between project engineers, contractors, and clients, keeping all parties informed of the project’s progress. Maintain detailed records of all matters affecting instructions, certificates, or other actions under the contract.
Ensure prompt response to contractor and Client correspondence
Work with the key project individuals to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advise the Client and company management of any such changes
Review, Certification and/or Recommendation of Change Orders, Claims, Correspondences, Payment Applications, etc. to the Client / Main Contractor.
Participate in contract administration, apply value engineering and give final approval to works and arrange for handover
