Job Description Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer – Civil to oversee the construction, coordination, and execution of a major District Cooling Plant (DCP) project. The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of civil engineering experience, with strong expertise in steel structure buildings, industrial facilities, and utility infrastructure. This role requires a leader capable of managing on site operations, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and international standards. Your role Project Management & Supervision Lead all site-related civil engineering activities for the District Cooling Plant project. Manage day to day construction supervision, quality control, and progress monitoring. Review and verify contractor’s work, drawings, method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals. Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and local authority requirements. Technical Oversight Oversee construction of steel structure buildings, foundations, equipment supports, pipe trenches, reservoirs, and other civil structures. Provide technical solutions to on site engineering challenges. Ensure proper coordination between civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines. Quality Assurance & Safety Enforce project QA/QC procedures, ensuring full adherence to international standards. Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality checks for all civil works. Ensure that all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines are strictly followed. Coordination & Communication Lead regular site meetings with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders. Coordinate with design teams, client representatives, and subcontractors to resolve issues. Prepare technical reports, site logs, progress updates, and documentation for management. Contract & Documentation Review and approve contractor invoices, variations, and claims. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with project requirements. Support testing and commissioning activities related to civil components. About you Education Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred). Professional certification (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer) is an advantage. Experience Minimum 20 years of experience in civil engineering within the construction sector. Proven track record supervising District Cooling Plants, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects. Strong experience with steel structure buildings, foundations, and heavy concrete works. Experience working with international consultants or major contractors in the GCC region is preferred. Skills Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent knowledge of construction standards, codes, and best practices. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines. Strong communication and reporting skills.
