About the role Techno is looking for a Resident Engineer to oversee a portfolio of complex pedestrian ramp projects across New York City. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineering professional who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment in the field, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, ADA-compliant infrastructure. As the on-site project lead, you will guide daily construction operations, ensure contractor performance, and serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders, inspectors, and the project team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with all applicable standards and regulations. What you'll do Lead day-to-day oversight of construction activities for pedestrian ramp and streetscape improvement projects Ensure all work complies with ADA requirements, design specifications, safety protocols, and applicable codes Manage and mentor inspection staff, ensuring accurate reporting and effective site coordination Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and as-built documentation Conduct daily walkthroughs to monitor field conditions, progress, and contractor performance Maintain detailed project records, including daily reports, photos, and tracking logs Resolve field issues promptly and coordinate with designers, contractors, and agency representatives Participate in progress meetings and provide clear updates on schedule, risks, and field challenges Oversee quality control processes to ensure completed work aligns with approved design documents Validate pay quantities, recommend payment approvals, and assist with project close-out documentation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Professional Engineer (PE) License required 7+ years of experience in construction management, resident engineering, or inspection for infrastructure or roadway projects Strong expertise in ADA requirements and pedestrian ramp construction standards Proven experience leading field staff and managing contractor coordination Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, regulations, and contract documents Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports Proficiency with document control systems, field reporting tools, and project management software Prior experience with NYC public-works projects is highly beneficial Experience working with NYCDDC projects, procedures, or standards is a strong plus Join us as we redefine excellence in engineering and construction management, shaping tomorrow's infrastructure landscape with innovation and precision. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
