Description Summary: Responsible for providing instruction and training to Residents and coordinates training by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Plans, documents and submits individual program plans regarding objectives and methods of instruction and quarterly progress notes to management. · Tracks unusual and major incidents. · Develops and maintains comprehensive family counseling programs and family visitation schedules in accordance with center guidelines. · Provides daily instructions and training to Residents to include activities of daily living, interpersonal relationships, productive use of leisure time and personal hygiene. · Prepares plans for service for each assigned Resident, monitors and documents progress. · Establishes schedules for outside Resident activities. · Provides effective communication to staff and resident's families and friends to promote consistency, moral, home-like atmosphere and practical programming. · Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate. · Represents Residents when dealing with medical consultants, families and friends as needed. · Promotes a positive atmosphere by assisting with facility upkeep as needed, encourages activities, conversations amongst Residents and expresses respect for the facility. · Trains new employees as assigned. · Makes staff schedules. · Responsible for being on call. · Develops and maintains an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and review of all personnel. · Develops and maintains a program for sound employee relations with personnel at all levels of the organization. · Provides guidance and direction to management employees and assists in their professional development. · Performs other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises four to 10 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 2 of 3 Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
