Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide safe, effective and reliable clinical care in a remote hospital environment.
  2. Provide the appropriate day-to-day care of a specified caseload under the direction of senior staff in the appropriate area. This will
    include responsibility for admissions and discharges and the institution and maintenance of a suitable management regime.
  3. To provide a range of relevant administrative duties including discharge summaries, liaising with the General Practitioner and
    communicating with relatives.
  4. Be available for secondment at other Territory Health Services for short periods as the need arises at the discretion of the Executive
    Director of Medical and Clinical Services.
  5. Participate in quality management, peer review and ongoing personal medical education programs; participate in education programs
    for medical students.
  6. To undertake other activities as the need arises, in particular to provide assistance in the Emergency Department, at the discretion and
    under the direction of the Executive Director of Medical and Clinical Services. This would include participation in after hour’s duties
    as required for the adequate functioning and staffing of the hospital.
  7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
    order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces
