Description
Make a lasting impact in your community Do you believe everyone deserves access to safe, stable, and affordable housing, and the support to thrive in it? Are you passionate about building connections and linking people to resources that help them grow and succeed? If you're an energetic, people-first professional with a heart for service and a head for coordination, we want to hear from you. Who We Are: The Housing Authority of Jackson County (HAJC) develops, maintains, and provides affordable housing to families, seniors, veterans, and individuals with low income across Jackson and Josephine counties. As a Resident Services Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of supporting residents in achieving personal and economic self-sufficiency, while helping to foster safe, connected, and vibrant communities. About the Role: This is not a desk-only job; you’ll spend your days engaging with residents, planning workshops and events, facilitating youth enrichment programs, and building trusted partnerships with community providers. You’ll work both independently and as part of a small, committed team to deliver high-quality support services to residents in HAJC-owned properties. What You’ll Do: Engage residents with consistent communication, orientations, and support. Plan and coordinate activities, including after-school programs, summer events, and resident workshops on topics such as financial literacy, parenting, and job readiness. Build partnerships with community agencies, schools, and service providers. Maintain accurate records of participation, case files, and service outcomes. Support youth enrichment, resident wellness, and community-building initiatives. Represent HAJC at community events and act as a trusted liaison between residents and services. What It Takes to Succeed: We’re looking for someone resourceful, organized, culturally competent, and comfortable working with diverse populations, including those facing barriers related to income, disability, or language. Core Qualifications: Associate’s degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience. At least 2 years of experience in social services, preferably with public housing or tenant-focused programs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, you're a natural connector. Comfort facilitating workshops and working with youth. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed. Bilingual in English and Spanish? That’s a big plus, but not required. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You: Are energized by helping others and supporting vulnerable communities. Enjoy building relationships and seeing residents succeed over time. Have a calm, compassionate demeanor and excellent follow-through. Can juggle multiple tasks and still make room for a last-minute event or crisis. Want your daily work to have a direct, positive impact on people’s lives. Don’t Meet Every Single Requirement? Studies show that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every qualification. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team, and we believe the best candidate may come from a less traditional background. If you're excited about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn't line up perfectly. Use your cover letter to tell us how you'd bring value to this work. Benefits: Competitive salary, dependent on experience Full medical, dental, and vision coverage 10 paid holidays, 3 weeks of vacation accrued annually, and sick leave Retirement benefits - PERS Training and development opportunities Compensation: The starting range for this position is $3,630 - $3,962 per month (equivalent to steps 1 - 3 on the HAJC salary schedule, depending on experience and qualifications).
