Job Details Job Location: FLA-Pasco County Domestic Violence Shelter - Port Richey, FL 34668 Position Type: Full Time Regular Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 Hourly Job Shift: Overnight Job Category: Housing Schedule/Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours/weekly Hours: Overnight and weekends Pay rate: $15.00 per hour This position is responsible for: This is a full-time position working approximately 35 hours a week in a domestic violence shelter. Successful completion of Domestic Violence Core Competency training within 90 days of employment and attends at least 16 hours of continuing education in domestic violence to maintain State of Florida Core Competency Certification is required. Key Responsibilities: Orients new clients to the program, helps survivors with crisis counseling and safety planning, and prepares case records to facilitate case management; records daily services. Ensures house guidelines are understood and followed; records incidents and notifies supervisor of any special circumstances or unusual problems; ensures security of facility and clients. Assists domestic violence hotline callers and provides telephone counseling, safety planning, and information and referral services. Performs housekeeping duties as needed to ensure cleanliness of the shelter. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper action. Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
