Description Spend the summer at camp! (with housing included!) Are you ready to lead, inspire, and live the camp experience? The Residential Camp Coordinator is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our overnight camp programs, including New England Sports Camps, Adventure Camp, and Excursion Camp. This position brings energy, organization, and strong mentorship to every part of camp life—from daytime programming to overnight cabin supervision. Living on-site during the week, you’ll support and guide residential staff, coordinate schedules and activities, and help create unforgettable, safe, and fun experiences for every camper. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Stay in the cabins in a supervisory role during the week. Manage scheduling, communication, and coordination of residential staff. Carry out daily camp programming through direct involvement with staff and campers. Provide council, advice and daily supervision for contracted workers and camp counselors. Participate and lead in the development of weekly programming & overnight excursions Lead by example and direction, expressing the importance of YMCA values, camper safety, and enthusiastic fulfillment of program objectives. Provide supervision to all residential campers. Meet weekly with the Camp Director to review program plans, plan future events and to discuss camp related issues. Participate in all special events, overnight trips, & pre-camp training. INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Communicate positively and effectively to campers and parents SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Team player Display role model behavior Organizational skills Ability to work independently Critical thinking Flexibility Ability to communicate with counselors regarding activities, camp policies and procedures, and to evaluate staff competence. Ability to observe camper behavior, assess appropriateness enforce appropriate safety regulations or emergency procedures, apply appropriate management techniques. WORK SCEHDULE: Seasonal / Sunday PM - Friday (5 days + 5 overnights) - Programs run all day Requirements KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associate's or BA in Education, Sports Management, Outdoor Education, or other relevant field CPR & First-Aid (or willingness to obtain) Must be willing to attend 5 day Wilderness First Responder Training Must be 18 years old or older EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years experience working in youth programming (sports, camps, etc.) Minimum 1 year working in supervisory role Experience leading adventure trips preferred
