Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Officer to join our team in Sydney NSW and Redbank Plains QLD. This role involves providing essential care and support to children and individuals with disabilities living in group housing or government care institutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing clients’ needs, planning, and facilitating access to education, training programs, and additional health and welfare services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of full-time experience in a similar role, or a relevant qualification with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Qualifications: Certification in Community Services, Disability Support, Social Work, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children and individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and welfare regulations.
  • Flexibility to work in a rostered environment, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience in developing and implementing care plans.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of supporting high needs clients and/or clients with behaviour of concerns.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity and the ability to work with clients from various backgrounds.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
