About the Opportunity

Ability WA is recruiting Disability Support Workers to support customers within our Residential Services across the Perth metropolitan area.

Due to the varied nature of our services, vacancies differ in location, contracted hours, shift patterns, and customer support requirements. During the recruitment process, suitable roster lines will be presented based on your availability, preferred work locations, and eligibility to work.

Greater flexibility in your availability and location preferences may provide access to a wider range of opportunities and additional hours.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker in Residential Services, you'll support customers to live as independently as possible and achieve their individual goals.

You will:

  • Provide person-centred support in a shared accommodation setting
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and household duties
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hoisting
  • Support customers to attend appointments, access the community, and participate in social activities
  • Drive wheelchair-accessible vehicles to assist with customer transport
  • Complete progress notes, medication records, incident reports, and other documentation

Roster Information

We offer permanent part-time positions with fixed roster lines.

  • Roster lines are matched to your availability, preferred work locations, and customer needs
  • Contracted hours, shift patterns, and locations vary across our services
  • Greater flexibility in your availability and location preferences may provide access to more opportunities and additional hours
  • Shifts are fixed and generally cannot be changed for the first six months
  • Roles may include morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, public holiday, and sleepover shifts

About You

We're looking for people who are:

  • Compassionate, reliable, and customer-focused
  • Comfortable supporting people with varying care needs
  • Able to work across different shifts and locations
  • Confident driving, or willing to learn to drive, wheelchair-accessible vehicles
