Location: Smethwick, West Midlands
Salary: £23,800 – £28,000 (depending on experience)
Additional Pay: £50 per sleep-in shift

Beacon Childcare is seeking a Residential Care Worker to join our experienced and supportive team at our 3-bed home in Smethwick, providing consistent, trauma-informed care for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

As a Residential Care Worker, you will play an essential role in helping young people feel safe, valued, and supported as they overcome adversity and build brighter futures. You will:

• Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support tailored to individual needs
• Encourage positive routines, education, and life skill development
• Be a consistent, positive role model for children in your care
• Work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, child-centred care plans
• Contribute to a calm, structured, and therapeutic environment
• Maintain accurate records and documentation using IT systems
• Support activities, appointments, and outings—including driving where needed
• Work a rolling shift pattern, including weekends and sleep-ins (£50 per sleep-in)
