  Job Title:  Residential Caregiver II Reports To:  Administrator, Lead Residential Caregiver/Assistant Administrator Directly Supervises:  N/A FLSA Status:  Non-exempt Summary:  Provides care and supervision of clients.  Contributes to the achievements of goals and objectives, and participates in delivering recreational, educational and life skills training programs. Responsibilities and Duties: •    Monitors activities and whereabouts of clients to ensure their general health, safety and well-being.  •    Provides assistance to clients in performing ADL’s (activities of daily living), to include feeding themselves, bathing, dressing, grooming and leisure activities.  •    Assists clients with maintenance of individual living spaces and adherence to special diets and medical regimens. •    Observes residents’ daily routines and monitors residents’ behavioral changes, documenting and reporting observations. •    Offers counseling and support to residents in need. •    Supports program staff by encouraging all clients to attend activities, groups and scheduled appointments. •    Assures facility is clean and well kept; performs light cleaning duties as needed. •    Adheres to the universal precautions of handwashing, gloves, use of disinfectant and proper disposal of infectious materials. •    May assist or lead groups or recreational activities, such as shopping. •    May administer medications and record activity in the Medication Log in accordance with medication room policies and procedures. •    May interact with emergency personnel in the event of an emergency call, to include providing and completing necessary paperwork. •    May provide transportation of clients in agency vehicles to off-site outings and appointments. •    Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: •    Able to write articulately. •    Able to read and interpret documents such as procedural manuals. •    Demonstrates patience and empathy. •    Exhibits excellent listening skills. •    Possesses excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. •    Remains calm during stressful situations. •    Maintains friendly and outgoing demeanor. Education/Experience: •    High school diploma or GED required; an AA or BA is preferred. •    Experience working with the mentally ill or in a residential facility highly desired. •    Experience passing medications is required. Special Requirements: •    Must be 18 years of age or older. •    Must be able to receive criminal record clearance as required by Title XXII, licensing regulations. This includes FBI and DOJ clearance.  •    A health screening, by or under the direction of a physician must have been performed not more than six months prior to employment or within seven (7) days after employment. Health screening must include TB clearance not more than six months prior to employment or within seven (7) days after employment. •    Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.  •    Must be able to administer first aid and CPR with proper training. Work Environment: •    Regularly required to stand, use hands, talk and hear. •    Frequently require to walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. •    Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or kneel. •    Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Friday & Saturday AM (8:00am - 5:00pm)
